ALE is shaping healthcare with secure and connected ecosystem transformations from telemedicine to cybersecurity.

Zero trust network

Earlier this year I was fortune to attend DMEA (Digital Medical Expertise and Applications) 2023 which took place in Berlin. DMEA, Europe’s leading trade fair for information and communication technologies in the healthcare sector, showcases the influential trends poised to redefine tomorrow’s healthcare landscape.

Following my visit to DMEA 2023, a key question I kept coming back to was: How are we, at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, helping transform healthcare systems in countries such as France and Germany?

The answer is clear when we look at our multiple innovative projects. As a prominent player in this transformation, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is spearheading several global initiatives focused on healthcare data management, telemedicine, healthcare system interoperability and AI-based cybersecurity.

Connecting data

One of the key areas of transformation is healthcare data management. In an effort to create robust data governance frameworks and enhance interconnection among healthcare systems, ALE has initiated the Health Data Circulation between Health Data Warehouses in France.

For example, in the Pleeade consortium in France, Keenturtle, Hopsiia and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, as members of “La Fillière de la Santé Numérique”, are developing solutions that facilitate seamless communications and data exchanges between different healthcare systems. Our Rainbow by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise platform serves as a collaboration tool that connects care teams within hospitals and primary care, enabling effective patient data exchanges, resulting in informed decision-making and improved patient care.

Rainbow, together with our digital networking solutions are specifically designed to foster connectivity within healthcare facilities and improve data circulation practices. Our cloud-based Rainbow solution has been Hébergement de Données de Santé (HDS) certified in France since 2020, which attests to our ability to securely host healthcare data.

Changing the game

Telemedicine, crucial to transformation, is opening the doors to healthcare accessibility. ALE technologies guarantee secure data sharing and reliable virtual consultations. Our partnerships along with 13 other partners, including the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, in Spain with Barcelona's Vall d'Hebron Hospital solidifies this commitment. As part of the Sharespace project, we are providing remote assistance for managing chronic back pain using immersive technologies. This ground-breaking initiative will be presented at the World Pain Conference in 2024.

Security is paramount

In an era where data security is critical, we are implementing advanced cybersecurity solutions like Zero Trust Networking, SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), which are vital in the healthcare sector. These solutions protect sensitive patient data and secure communications between remote sites and workers.

Today, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is at the forefront of enabling relevant healthcare system digital transformations in many countries around the world. Our focus on enhancing connectivity and collaboration for better data circulation, enabling teleconsultation services, healthcare systems connectivity and cybersecurity is paving the way for secure, connected and interoperable healthcare ecosystems. These initiatives mark the dawn of innovative advancements in healthcare delivery, truly shaping the future of the industry.
